I am Maia Randhava; welcome to our class! I began my work in education in Costa Rica developing curriculum and cultural programs in a collaboration between Harvard’s Center for International Development and The Costa Rican Ministry of Education. In Costa Rica, I continued my work at an international school teaching the globally-focused IB curriculum to Juniors and Seniors. Here in The United States, I have taught 6-8 grade Literature and Language Arts at Haven Middle School in Evanston, IL. As a literacy coach I worked on a variety of curriculum projects and helped to implement readers and writers workshop in 6-8 schools. I have presented various units of study and curriculum projects at The Illinois Reading Council (IRC) and The Suburban Council of the International Reading Association (SCIRA). I hold a B.A. in English Literature from Boston University and an M.A. in International Educational Policy, and I am certified to teach 6-12 English and ELA.
